I am in the process of upgrading my Sametime server by moving it to new hardware and installing ST 8.5.2 IFR1 (because I'm putting it on ND8.5.3).
All we want it the classic meeting server to allow our users to chat, schedule/attend a meeting, and occasionally to allow our Helpdesk to connect to a user's desktop to remotely manage it (ie. share screens).
I'm very confused as to what exactly I need to download and install. I have downloaded the Community Server 8.5.2 and 8.5.2 IFR1 but I don't think this is what I want. Is this right? I had asked a similar question a few weeks ago and didn't get a definitive, yes that's the right thing to install. But I don't think I asked the correct question.
Looking at an architecture layout of a basic Sametime environment, it appearas that the meeting server, proxy server, gateway and media servers all "talk" to both the community server and the console.
Is it the Standard Meeting server that I need to install, not Community Server?
